Corrosion properties of test results showed that there was a significant improvement in the corrosion resistance in the case of nitrogen implanted samples.
Oct 08, 2002 · Corrosion Resistance of 410 and 4140 Carburize (Materials) (OP) 23 Sep 02 10:53. 12 Cr stainless and 4140 are popular alloys for handgun barrels. During use, the barrels pick-up lead and copper from the projectiles and need to be cleaned. One of the cleaning methods I have heard about involves soaking the barrel in a 50/50 mixture of vinegar Corrosion behavior of AISI 316 stainless steel coated with Feb 15, 2018 · A coating comprised of fluorocarbon elastomer and 350% by volume of hollow glass microspheres or microballoons, of around 2300 microns in size, has been found to provide new and unexpected corrosion resistance to metal surfaces, affording protection against severely corrosive environments.14 Moreover, PVDF is one of the excellent polymers used in the fabrication of ultrafiltration and microfiltration membranes, owing to its good corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant
out to investigate the eect of strain-induced martensite on the tribocorrosion of AISI 316L austenitic stainless steels in articial seawater. The obtained results demonstrate that high load is benecial for the formation of strain-induced martensite, which is closely related to the improvement of hardness and wear resistance of AISI 316L. Enhancement of the Pitting Corrosion Resistance of AISI Tantalum carbide (TaC), hafnium carbide (HfC), and Ta-Hf-C mixed coatings with and without a gold (Au) interlayer were deposited on 316LVM steel substrates by the magnetron cosputtering technique in order to improve the corrosion resistance of steel substrates in a simulated biological fluid. To study the effect of the gold interlayer on pitting corrosion, the different systems were placed in

To get to know the corrosion behaviour samples of the heat treated steel AISI 4140, 42CrMo4, used for casing, and the martensitic stainless injection-pipe steel AISI 420, X46Cr13 were kept at T=60°C and p=1-60 bar for 700 h-8000 h in a CO2-saturated synthetic aquifer environment similar to the geological CCS-site at Ketzin, Germany. Investigation on the Relationship between the Surface Aug 28, 2018 · The relationship between the surface chemistry and the corrosion resistance of electrochemically nitrided AISI 304 stainless steel samples has been investigated. The nitriding treatment was carried out in HNO 3 0.1 M and HNO 3 0.1 M + KNO 3 0.5 M at room temperature. Samples were subjected to the nitriding procedure for 30 minutes under a cathodic potential of -0.7
corrosion resistance was analyzed by a potentiodynamic test according to Norm . 2. Materials Three types of stainless steel (AISI 304, AISI 316, AISI 321) with different chemical compositions were selected (Table 1). In spite of inconsiderable differences in the content of alloy additions, they Short Time Ion Nitriding of AISI 420 Martensitic Stainless steel corrosion behaviour at different temperature and long treatments (15 and 20 hours). It was reported that it is possible to obtain a good corrosion resistance (in the AISI 420 and AISI 410 stainless steels) when the expanded martensite without chromium nitrides precipitation is formed at low temperature 2,13.
